ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight or 4-day week. Based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, it’s a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing specialised electrical power and instrumentation maintenance and reliability expertise and managing modifications and project tasks in line with processes, standards, and performance targets for HSEC, quality and cost.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Provide electrical and instrumentation engineering expertise and consultative support for the Execution and Operation teams
• Develop and maintain asset management plans for critical electrical and instrumentation equipment across the entire South32 Worsley Alumina operation
• Assist with the development of maintenance strategies for new equipment
• Ensure compliance to relevant processes and standards, statutory legislation, Fatal Risk Controls, and Industry, Australian or Government Standards

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Extensive experience in a reliability role within mining or heavy industry.
• Proficient in maintaining and reliability of electrical, instrumentation and power systems including VSDs/motors, Distribution equipment, VSD, LV system, DC systems, PLCs, and Process instrumentation.
• Knowledgeable in industrial control systems and process plant instrumentation.
• Experienced in reliability principles and troubleshooting of LV electrical systems.

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Eligible for Chartered Membership of Engineers Australia
