About the role
This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical engineering standards, specifications, procedures and designs at Cannington. It provides core electrical design expertise for equipment, systems and processes – existing plant, infrastructure and new projects.
Reporting to the Superintendent Projects & Engineering, the role is being offered on a permanent basis on a 4/3 roster from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Visibly lead & coaching workers in safe behaviours and routines including Workplace Interactions and TAKE5s
- Perform additional appointed role duties such as Control Owner or Contractor Owner
- Report, investigate and rectify events as per the reporting and investigation procedure
- Responsible for estimating scope, cost and forecast timeline for new minor Opex projects not managed by Project Leads
- Responsible for reporting progress against plan
- Responsible for delivering the electrical engineering scope of capital and Opex studies on time and within budget to the required specifications, managing daily execution through the Engineering Level 1
- Responsible for completing design technical reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews and assessments as required by the project complexity
- Responsible for reviewing and approving electrical engineering sign-off for Management of Change (MoC) requests as required
- Responsible for reviewing consultant and contractors electrical engineering work and auditing technical changes on site for compliance
- Responsible for technical document management, including reviewing and signing off for compliance on all site electrical updates to standards, specification, procedures and drawings, ensuring the blueprint is updated with the latest version.
- Conduct and facilitate meetings/workshops effectively to achieve organisational outcomes.
About you
- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland Electrical (Desired)
- 5 + years’ experience
- Experience working in remote locations.
- Be able to apply safety, health and environmental Principals and procedures in a workplace and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant current Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Adequate knowledge of AS/NZS Standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment within a workplace.
- Deliver complex and detailed engineering designs and drawings.
- Comprehensive understanding of design & drafting practices.
- MS Projects, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). SharePoint experience preferred.
- 1SAP preferred.
- Demonstrate an understanding of quality requirements for a Quality Management System.
