Owned by Yancoal, Yarrabee is based in Blackwater QLD which is 200 km west of the Capricorn Coast. Yarrabee is a proud producer of high-quality PCI coal since 1982. Yancoal Australia is Australia’s largest pure play coal producer. It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. Yancoal Australia also manages five other Australian coal mines on behalf of related parties. 

We have a new opportunity for a Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) to join our team of industry-leading and experienced professionals to provide strong leadership and support a high-performance culture by role modelling and reinforcing the behaviours that will underpin the success of our operation.

About the Role

The Electrical Superintendent (EEM) is to oversee the maintenance of the Yarrabee site electrical systems and equipment, to ensure it is in fit for purpose state and ensure compliance to the site electrical management plan. This role is responsible for the sustainability of site power installations for the continuous operations of the Yarrabee site.

The role also ensures the following at Yarrabee Mine; electrical safety, adequate electrical maintenance of installations is undertaken, standards of electrical practice are set and maintained, compliance to site and statutory standards are monitored and undertake engineering projects as directed.

To be successful in this role you will possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external clients. You will demonstrate the ability to deliver on time maintenance of all mobile plant in a challenging, fast paced and professional environment.

Roster: 5/2 Roster - Monday to Friday  

Skills and Experience

To be considered for the role the following qualifications will be highly regarded:

• Electrical Trade Certificate/Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
• Open Cut Electrical Engineering Certificate of competency accepted by the Health Safety Advisory Committee
• Electrical Engineering Manager qualification favourable, or currently studying the EEM qualification
• S1, S2 and S3, G2 – Supervisor Competencies 
• Current open drivers’ licence
• Generic Surface Induction - STD11 SOA
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence at all levels internally and externally.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplined project teams across multiple projects simultaneously.
• SAP experience with Master Data exposure
• Project management experience
• Understanding the operations and maintenance of mining equipment
