Electrical Fire Technician
Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Role overview:
- Maintain service records and asset database
- Liaise with planners and supervisors to ensure jobs are done according to schedule to maintain compliance
- Train personnel to enable coverage during leave and sickness
- Site auditing
- Completion of reports related to servicing and repairs
- Liaising with site personal regarding faults and defects
- Provide recommendations for suitable system upgrades
Key accountabilities will include:
- Maintaining and servicing all Fire Detection, Alarm and Warning Systems and Fire Fighting Equipment to AS1851-2012
- Servicing and maintaining of gaseous suppression systems and equipment. (EAHL required)
- Setting up, installing, programming and maintaining of various types of Multi Aspirated Smoke Detection Sensors (e.g. VESDA systems)
- Fault finding on various fire systems and networks
- Installation and programming fire panels from various manufacturers
- Installation and programming of various site monitoring systems (eg: Graphics, SCADA)
- Fire Detection Rectifications Special Hazard Systems – E.g. Gas Suppression Systems, VESDA, etc
- Wet Fire knowledge such as hydrants, sprinkler, pump set, etc. is an advantage.
- Licenses – Electrical, EAHL, Cert II Fire Asset Management, National Open Cabling License
