ABOUT THE ROLES

We have several Permanent roles available on either a DS 4:3 roster, or DS/NS Continuous roster. You’ll be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the Electrical Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for safely maintaining and refurbishing electrical and instrumentation equipment following SAP processes and work instructions as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Respond swiftly to breakdowns to minimise production losses and ensure efficient plant equipment operation
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical and instrumentation equipment, including variable speed drives, PLC/DCS systems, and high-voltage assets
  • Maintain, repair and calibrate temperature, pressure, and flow measurement instrumentation, and 3.3kV and 415V switchgear, motors, cabling, and motor control centres
  • Contribute to root cause analysis, resolve equipment issues, and update work procedures as needed
  • Report events and hazards promptly, and participate in workplace investigations

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Prior experience in a similar role, ideally gained within mining or heavy industry
  • Working knowledge of tasks related to maintaining industrial processing equipment
  • Fluent with instrumentation equipment including control valves and positioners, variable speed drives, PLC and DCS systems and high voltage assets 

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • WA ‘A’ electrical license
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s license
  • Cert IV in Instrumentation (desirable)
