We are looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician, providing onsite maintenance support. In this role you will carry out electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repairs to meet statutory requirements and business plans in a safe & sustainable manner. 

This role will be a bus in/out from Darwin on a 7 days on, 7 off roster and is a is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.

Reporting to the Supervisor Electrical Maintenance and working in a small collaborative team, you will be;

  • Providing onsite maintenance support duties;
  • Undertake inspections & fault finding
  • Root cause analysis of failures and making recommendations to ensure that probability of repeat failures are minimised 
  • Test and Tag

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and the team
  • Electrical & Instrumentation Trade Certificate
  • Experience with pumps, compressors & VSD’s
  • Competent reading and interpreting electrical drawings
  • Strong technical and fault finding skill
  • Ability to work autonomously in a small team environment
  • An Australian C Class manual driver’s license or higher 

It will also be beneficial if you have

  • Reverse Osmosis, micro-filtration and ultra filtration experience
  • Allen Bradley PLC’s, Honeywell SCADA systems experience
  • SAP experience ideal
  • Work experience in a Industrial, Processing plant or Mining environment

Where you’ll be working

Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto its major shareholder. ERA has mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory since 1980. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, and is surrounded by, but separate from Kakadu National Park.

Mining at Ranger ceased in November 2012 and since then, Ranger has been processing ore from stockpiles.

The role is either Darwin based on a Bus in Bus out arrangement between Ranger Mine and Darwin, or locally based residential in Jabiru. Subsidised housing arrangements for Jabiru residents will be included.
