About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Trade Qualified A Grade Electrician to become an Isolation Officer at our Port Hedland Shutdown Services team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Isolation and Commissioning Supervisor.  Our successful candidates will be highly motivated and enjoy working in an inclusive team environment. The roster is 8D6X & 7N7X and is being offered on a FIFO basis.     Your responsibilities will include:

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, and environment within Port
  • Complete scheduled ramp down positioning and de-energisation of plant equipment ready for cleaning and maintenance requirements
  • Perform authorised mechanical &Electrical HV/LV isolations.
  • Execution of lockbox permits by correctly identifying isolation points and following lock out   and zero energy confirmation processes.
  • Work in permitting systems to ensure isolations points in lockboxes and task specific isolation list provide a safe area of work. 
  • Conducting field leadership conversations and actively identifying hazards.
  • Assist BHP personal and contract partners in the lock on process.
  • Complete scheduled ramp up energisation of plant equipment ready for commissioning and return of plant equipment for production requirements.

About You

As the successful candidate you will ideally possess the following experience and skills:

  • Hold a WA “A” Grade Electrical licence
  • Experience working in a Plant Maintenance environment
  • Experience working in a Port operations environment
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, problem solving & communication skills
  • Hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or the ability to obtain one
  • C Class Driver’s Licence
  • High Voltage Electrical Switching Ticket (desirable)
  • PLC Experience (desirable)
  • Previous permitting system experience (desirable)
