About the role 

This permanent full-time role is on a 7:7 roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns.  

Responsible for developing and safely executing maintenance and engineering activities across the mine and non-process infrastructure. Reporting to the Superintendent Electrical & NPI, you will be supported in your ongoing efforts to enhance the operations maintenance practices and equipment performance.

Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

• Provide the electrical and technical expertise to ensure GEMCO's electrical assets are maintained in accordance with applicable safety and technical standards, particularly in the planning, preparation, and execution of shutdown activities.
• Produce and maintain Maintenance Plans to allow for continuity and the safe execution of electrical maintenance activities
• Provide leadership, mentoring and technical support for the Electrical Maintenance Team
• Contribute to identifying, forecasting, and scheduling maintenance activities and projects
• Ensure execution activities are conducted safely and cost effectively in accordance with the relevant standards and operating procedures
• Review work execution performance to identify gaps and take corrective action as necessary to improve performance
• Develop improvement plans with the Reliability team and execute work to completion

About you

• Trade Certificate, Degree or Associate Diploma in a relevant Electrical Engineering field
• Prior experience in a similar role within heavy industry – mining preferred
• Current NT Electrical License or the ability to obtain
• Knowledge of SAP work management desirable
• Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
