ABOUT IMC

Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position based at the Appin mine, near the coastal city of Wollongong (NSW), and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney. 

As the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the safe execution of maintenance within the Mine Services team. You’ll be supported in your efforts to continually seek to improve our maintenance practices and equipment performance across the operation.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Lead and monitor the safe planning and execution of maintenance for electrical works in the mine services team (high voltage networks, Booster Fans, communication networks and outbye equipment)
  • Provide technical support to trades and supervisors for electrical fault finding and maintenance
  • Contribute to forecasting and scheduling of maintenance activities and projects
  • Complete daily and weekly reviews of area performance for maintenance activities and equipment performance, determining actions to deliver the Weekly Plan

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Prior experience working at an underground coal mine (desirable)
  • Proficiency in fault-finding of electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of Electrical Equipment in hazardous areas (desirable)
  • Self-starter able to prioritise workload and complete activities within time frames

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Trade Certificate, Degree, or Associate Diploma in relevant Electrical field
  • Valid C Class Drivers Licence
