About the role 

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the goal of this position is to execute electrical maintenance activities in compliance with work management systems and the relevant safety and technical standard instructions.

This is a permanent full-time role on a 7/7 roster, FIFO Darwin or Cairns. 

Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

• Undertaking electrical works on HV and LV supply, transmission, and distribution networks, including maintenance, installation and commissioning works on generation equipment, HV transmission lines and associated apparatus, HV and LV distribution apparatus and associated switching/earthing systems and transformers.
• Undertaking electrical works on fixed plant, mobile generation, and non-process infrastructure, including maintenance, design, installation, and commissioning of single and three phase AC machines and control gear, HV and LV motors, LV switchboards and associated sub circuits and equipment, LV and ELV control equipment, mobile LV generators and lighting plants, aerodrome infrastructure, water and sewerage infrastructure.
• Undertaking electrical works on domestic and commercial installations, including maintenance, design, installation, and commissioning of electrical apparatus associated with accommodation buildings, domestic housing, commercial laundry and mess facilities and public recreation areas.
• Analysing and solving electrical problems along with fault finding and repair
• Working as a project team member
• Contributing to business improvement initiatives
• Contribute to review and feedback processes
• Perform required work management activities
• Assist in the training and development of apprentices

About you

To be considered for the role, you will have:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an electrical maintenance role, preferably within the mining industry
• Trade Certificate – Electrical
• Minimum Cert IV Instrumentation
• NT ‘A’ Grade Electrical Workers Licence
• A team player with good communication skills.
• Siemens PLC Experience
• HV Switching Experience
• C Class Drivers License
• EWP and Working at Heights preferred
