We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia.
Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 200 people, and aim to support our local communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the CHPP Superintendent, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role is responsible for carrying out the electrical work on site as required and to direct and manage the electrical maintenance activities in a safe and cost effective manner in order to achieve a high degree of reliability and statutory compliance. Moreover, this position must ensure scheduling and planning methods used optimise mine operations and provide for changes to the operational environment as they arise.
- Provide leadership for the Electrical team at Cameby Downs
- Provide maintenance schedule to identify equipment requirements, capacity and identify issues that affect optimal progress of the schedule
- Work collaboratively with relevant staff to optimise production and productivity, compliance to work schedules, and quality
- Develop task plans for the execution of both routing and one-off electrical maintenance activities
- Work to continuously improve the safety culture and performance
- Make recommendations and implement improvements to safety and security procedures
Skills and Experience
- High level of analytical and problem solving skills
- Skills in risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety performance
- Computer literate and knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems and electronic data systems - SAP preferred
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High attentional to detail
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- Experience identifying and implementing cost efficient initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Electrical Trade Qualification
- Current Supervisor competencies (S1, S2, S3 and G2)
- Current Standard 11 Induction
- Current QLD Drivers Licence
- Carry out Risk Assessment
