Electrical Process Maintainer

  • Permanent full-time opportunity - Bell Bay, Tasmania
  • Join a team where diversity of thought and new ways of thinking are truly valued
  • Personal ongoing training and development to further your career ambitions

About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We have an opportunity for trade qualified Electricians to join our Asset Management team at Bell Bay Aluminium.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a well-established maintenance environment and use your already acquired skills. We care about inclusion and diversity and we are looking for people who are interested in continuing their career development.

Reporting to the Crew Leader we have a rare opportunity to join our Shift Maintenance crew.

Our rotating Shift Roster includes a combination of 12 hr day/night shifts. This roster rotation means that you will alternate from a long week (60 hours) to a short week (24 hours). This provides you with every second weekend off and in combination with a shorter work-week each fortnight, you will have the opportunity to balance your work and other commitments to spend time on the things that are important to you.

Our Shift Electricians are the first responders to equipment issues that immediately affect safety, the environment and production. Due to the nature of this work, they quickly learn and build up expertise of our assets (like the General Purpose Cranes (GPs), Cell Tending Machines (CTMs) and Vertical Direct Chill (VDC) casting equipment), work independently across day and night shifts and are highly autonomous.

As an Electrician at Bell Bay Aluminium, you will:

  • Live our values of Care, Courage and Curiosity in all that you do;
  • Be fault finding and managing planned and breakdown work;
  • Communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Work autonomously as well as within a team.

What you’ll bring

Previous experience working within an industrial environment is highly regarded. To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Trade qualified (Electrical)
  • Australian Electrical Licence
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Current C class drivers licence

In addition to paying competitively and providing great benefits packages, we want you to live the lifestyle that is right for you and your family. And because of our size and scale, there are many opportunities to learn, grow and do more than you ever thought possible.

Every hour of every shift, your safety and wellbeing is our number one priority. We do the work only if it is safe, and we invest to make sure every member of the team has the quality tools they need to do their job.

What we offer

Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking, and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.

  • A work environment where safety is always the number one priority
  • Domestic relocation assistance
  • Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family
  • Attractive share ownership plan
  • Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options
  • Ongoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing support
  • Leave for all of life’s reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave)
  • Exclusive employee discounts (banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more)
