Electrical Project Engineer
Work Location: Hedland Operations- Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4/3 FIFO ex. Perth as agreed by management; or 4/3 residential, with the possibility for a 5/2 as agreed by management.
This exciting opportunity involves overseeing the design, tender, construction and commissioning of electrical projects at our Port Operations. We are looking for an electrical engineer to join our projects team who has previous experience working in the project management space with good leadership and communication skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and plan electrical projects with the Project Supervisor, Maintenance and Shutdown teams
- Build initial scope of work, cost estimates and project timelines
- Raise notifications in SAP
- Tender / Engage vendors
- Order and track long lead items
- Perform acceptance testing for all hardware and software changes prior to implementation
- Design electrical systems including but not limited to instrumentation and PLC hardware
- Ensure Shutdown Readiness is adhered to
- Attend Shutdown interface meetings
- Identify improvement projects
- Manage project execution both online and in shutdown
- Track project budgets and provide reforecasts
- Update master data, inspection checklists, redlines and other associated documents
- Manage Work Order Backlog
- Close out projects once completed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
- Experience in Project Management
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- Competency in SAP (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
- Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
- Conduct Field Interactions on work groups to promote safe work practices
- Support teams with MS Office applications, SAP and general computer training
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact at all levels
- Self-driven, willing to be flexible and the ability to demonstrate initiative without Supervision
- Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure
- Current Driver’s License (C Class)
