Electrical Reliability Engineer

Work Location: Solomon. Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 4/3

The role of the Electrical Reliability Engineer is to provide technical support using initiatives and applying reliability engineering techniques, data analysis, improvement projects and defect elimination for the operational Ore Processing Facility.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Optimising predictive and preventative maintenance schedules and procedures;
  • Development and delivery of action plans to improve the reliability of production critical equipment;
  • Review the implementation and upgrade procedures on site;
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within maintenance;
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of accurate reports for the Engineering and Reliability department;
  • Ensuring the site based Maintenance groups act on recommendations to reduce downtime and prevent premature failures, in order to increase machine availability and reliability; and
  • Supporting development and implementation of the reliability and continuous improvement framework.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering
  • Condition Monitoring knowledge/understanding
  • SAP knowledge
  • Mining experience in hard rock applications
  • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
  • Excellent problem solving skills and continual improvement focus
  • Knowledge of relevant Mines legislations and regulations
  • Knowledge of computer management systems
  • Planning, organisational, scheduling and coordination skills
