Barminco has successfully tendered for the exciting Bellevue Gold Project located approximately 40km north-east of Leinster in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region. Operated by Bellevue Gold Limited, Bellevue is one of Australia’s highest-grade underground gold mines, achieving commercial production in 2024 and positioned for significant long-term growth.

This major underground operation combines industry-leading mining practices with a strong sustainability focus, including a hybrid renewable energy power station designed to supply more than 80% of the site’s power requirements through renewable energy sources.

About the Role

As part of this project, Barminco is seeking experienced and motivated Electrical Supervisors to join the underground team on a full-time basis (8/6 FIFO ROSTER ex Perth).  These roles are integral to delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations at the Bellevue Gold Mine while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Bellevue Gold Mine. 

Your role will support and manage the workload for the team, provide direct support and advice to ensure work is completed in a technical, safe, quality controlled and efficient hands-on manner.

What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?

  • Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and technical guidance to Electrical Leading Hands, Electricians, and Apprentices while coordinating daily underground electrical activities with supervisors and management teams.
  • Maintain compliance and operational standards by updating electrical documentation and records, attending mining planning meetings, completing safety observations and inspections, and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site safety procedures and requirements.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by providing safe systems of work, ensuring Duty of Care compliance, reporting hazards/incidents, and leading incident investigations when required.
  • Coordinate underground electrical operations through effective communication with site departments, reporting electrical status updates, and delegating responsibilities during supervisor absences.
  • Monitor, mentor, and evaluate underground electrical personnel performance, maintain workforce competency records and licences, and encourage active participation in toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, recording, and preventative maintenance programs to minimise equipment downtime, control costs, and maintain operational reliability.
  • Maintain high operational standards through effective housekeeping practices, accurate electrical record management, and continuous compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Our Ideal Candidate Background Includes

  • Extensive electrical experience an underground mining environment
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, completed Supervisory training preferred
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Possess Australian recognised WA Electrical Licence, Section 26 training and Electrical Nominee
  • Current High Voltage switching certificate (within 2 years)
  • Understanding and knowledge of mobile/electric drills, underground communication systems – leaky feeder, Wi-Fi and fibre optic
  • Extensive understanding of current WA Electrical legislation.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
