Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Cloudbreak – Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

 

Cloudbreak is seeking an experienced Electrical Shutdown Coordinator to lead the safe and effective coordination of electrical shutdown activities across the site. Reporting into the Shutdown Superintendent, this role will work closely with supervisors, planners, operations and contractors to ensure shutdown work is well prepared, safely executed and delivered to schedule.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate electrical shutdown activities from preparation through to execution and close-out.
  • Lead and support electrical supervisors, trades and contractors to safely deliver shutdown scope.
  • Lead and support Permit coordinator team to safely deliver shutdown scope.
  • Ensure shutdown work is executed in accordance with electrical safety, isolation and statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with Planning, Scheduling, Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure shutdown readiness.
  • Monitor shutdown progress, priorities and emerging risks, escalating issues and coordinating recovery actions.
  • Drive strong safety leadership, field engagement and compliance with Fortescue procedures.
  • Support resource, tooling, materials and contractor requirements ahead of shutdown execution.
  • Review shutdown performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability and execution efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Australian recognised Electrical Trade Certificate and current WA Electrical Workers Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or supervising electrical maintenance and shutdown activities within mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fixed plant electrical systems, isolation processes and electrical safety requirements.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors in a shutdown environment.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving capability in time-critical environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across Maintenance, Operations and Planning teams.
  • SAP maintenance experience highly regarded.
  • Current Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment.
