Electrical Supervisor (Power Station & Electrical Network)
Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
The Mine Services team at Eliwana ensures that mining can operate below the water table and to ensure the site water and power demand has an uninterrupted supply. Mine services department also service and maintain all Fire detection and gaseous suppression system in main buildings, village and OPF Facility.
Responsible for leading and mentoring a team of trades-based personnel to safely deliver power to the Eliwana mine site. Our assets include two Power Stations consisting of 18 diesel powered generators and the associated electricity network, the electrical components of Mine dewatering assets including centrifugal pumps, starter control panels, VSD control panels, motor distribution centres, telemetry, SCADA and PLCs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of all staff and work being conducted within the power station and high voltage network
- Promoting a positive, safety-oriented team culture and driving Fortescue's Values
- Manage employee rosters, leave and training requirements to ensure coverage for the 24-hour operation
- Arrange daily, weekly work orders to adhere to scheduled compliance
- Maintain continuous improvement initiatives within team
- Guide team to safely attend and solve power generation and distributions system breakdown
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 3 years site based, Power Station and or High Voltage Network maintenance supervisory experience
- Trade qualification (Western Australia A grade electrical license)
- High Voltage Switching ticket and Instrumentation experience
- Experience in Planning, scheduling, and prioritising daily work
- Strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Microsoft Office and SAP proficiency
