Darlot Site Overview

With over a century of mining history, Darlot is a cornerstone operation of Vault Minerals Limited producing high-grade gold production. The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.

The purpose of the position of Electrical Supervisor position is supervising electricians, ensuring that electrical installations are inspected and executed both efficiently and safely. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, project management capabilities, and leadership skills, as well as providing support to the underground electricians for the underground mining infrastructure, radio, and telemetry network facilities throughout the lease and other operational areas.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Electrical Maintenance team inclusive of contractors in a cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring awareness of performance targets, and have access to the necessary tools to achieve these and that their activities are aligned with Company targets.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to production through the ready access to critical parts & equipment and service providers by developing and maintaining good working relationships with external companies and having contingency plans in place to source these at short notice if required.
  • Perform quality fault finding to ensure accurate diagnosis of faults.
  • Prioritise and respond quickly to urgent breakdowns impacting production or safety.
  • Ensure all installations comply with site electrical standards and statutory electrical regulations.
  • Correct and/or report safety and environmental hazards when identified to mitigate risk and reduce the occurrence of incidents and/or injury by investigating and reporting on ground control issues.

About you:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Underground Maintenance operation.
  • WA “A” Class Electrical Workers Licence
  • Manual Australian Drivers Licence
  • WA Electrical license
  •  Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Training
  • High Voltage Switching Experience
  • St Johns Senior First Aid certificate
  • Willing to obtain Electrical Nominee qualification
