About the Role
We have a current opportunity for an Electrical Team Leader to join us working in an inclusive team environment within the Fixed Plant Maintenance Department at South Flank. The expectation is that you will be a skilled Electrician with a passion for the Electrical Industry and a consistent drive for improvement, quality workmanship, personal and team development. These positions will be offered on a FIFO 8/6, 7/7 FIFO roster from Perth.
You’ll contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and will be an innovative thinker with a passion for improvement and developing the next generation of electricians. Experience in a similar role is essential as we are looking for a people leader who considers the big picture and brings their perspective to our operations. Conducting all task in safest manner possible in line with BHP Charter Values, BHP Policies/ Procedures, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
Reporting to the Shift Electrical Supervisor, your duties will include:
- As a S26 statutory Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations in accordance with your appointment
- Ensure operational discipline in 1SAP Work Management practices.
- Assist in delivering planned maintenance to drive a safe and reliable plant
- Provide electrical trade skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance across all areas of Fixed Plant
- Continuous improvement of systems and processes are core priorities to enable effectiveness and efficiency
- Coach and mentor team members to deliver on plan and build a high performing team
- Work cohesively with engineering and operational departments to conduct and implement RCAs and Defect Elimination projects
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to validate and challenge scope, including preparation requirements, isolation requirements and maintenance activities
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
About You
Our successful candidate will have the following:
- WA Electrical Trade License
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Logbook Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and Studio Logix
- Proven track record of safety management
- Passion for developing others and knowledge sharing
- Extensive Fixed Plant experience
- High Voltage Switching experience
- Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
- Have previous experience leading a small team
- S26 Electrical statutory Appointment experience or have the ability to obtain
- Great communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to communicate well across multiple levels and disciplines
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
- Solid time management skills and be able to prioritise
- Experience in the use of 1SAP Work Management processes and Microsoft Suites
- Minimum of C class manual driver’s license
