Electrical Technical Coordinator
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

An exciting opportunity exists for a for a qualified and dynamic Electrical Technical Coordinator to join the Iron Bridge OPF Electrical Maintenance team.
Be a part of FMG’s exciting new magnetite mine at Iron Bridge. Currently under construction, when finished it will be one of the largest magnetite mines in WA. The world class facility is situated 145km south of Port Hedland and will deliver 22 million tonnes per annum of high grade 67% magnetite concentrate product. The innovative process design ensures production is highly efficient with globally competitive operating costs for a mine of this scale and size. Iron Bridge will employ 900 full time positions once operations commence in early 2023.
You will lead a team to provide safe, effective, and timely electrical maintenance to our equipment and ancillaries to optimise plant operational capacity. This is permanent full-time position in a forward thinking and values-based organisation with a strong focus on building an inclusive team culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installing electrical and communication equipment, and assist with configuration, calibration & device programming
- Performance monitoring for maintenance-related good practices and standards (Advanced problem diagnosis, giving appropriate guidance)
- Overseeing commissioning of equipment and identify problem areas and assessing remedial requirements for short/long-term solutions (Including justifying the need for changes or new products/equipment)
- Initiating the procurement of new products
- Planning the execution & installing, of new products/equipment as well as associated planned maintenance
- Performing upgrades and enhancements of hardware
- Review and challenge maintenance strategy for improved operations and review downtime data analysis and implement actions to prevent recurrence
Qualifications and skills required:
- WA A Grade Electrical License
- Cert 4 in Instrumentation or above
- Strong Fault-Finding skill set in a continuous operating plant
- Ability to work in high pressure environments
- HV Switching qualifications with previous experience
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to coach, mentor and lead a team
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards
- Proficient in VSD fault rectification – ABB/Danfoss, technical writing and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
