Electrical Technical Officer

Work Location:Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster:8D/6R residential role in Port Hedland.

Residential Port Hedland working an 8:6 days only roster. Local Port Hedland residents as well as candidates who are willing to relocate to Port Hedland are encouraged to apply.

Key opportunity for an experienced to join the Headland Team

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Configuration, calibration & device programming
  • Advanced fault finding and problem diagnosis
  • Focus on electrical reliability and plant improvement
  • Scoping continuous improvement opportunities
  • Raising notifications and work orders
  • Breakdown and fault finding on Fixed Plant
  • Preventative maintenance on Fixed Plant
  • Modular and shutdown maintenance
  • Planning and executing electrical upgrades and projects
  • Statutory testing and inspections

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Electrical trade qualification
  • Experience in PLC systems and control communication systems
  • Troubleshooting capacity of complex electrical systems
  • Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
  • High voltage ticket
  • Previous experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment
  • Instrumentation experience
  • Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed Drives
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics and isolation
