Electrical Technician
We are seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to join the Ashton Team. Applicants must have a commitment to working safely, be a self-starter, proactive, results orientated and focused on maintaining the high standards in place at the mine.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the shift Undermanager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Supervising the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical plant and equipment on site
- Conducting effective maintenance and fault-finding work on electrical systems
- Monitoring equipment to ensure it remains fit for purpose and in a safe condition
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 2 years Underground Coal Mining experience
- Electrical trade qualification and Certificate of Proficiency (Mandatory)
- Qualifications in Maintenance of Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas (Highly Desirable)
- A strong commitment to safety
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
- Positive attitude towards and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of Coal Mining Health and Safety legislation requirements
- Experience maintaining Underground Mining Equipment including conveyor systems, Joy development equipment, CT/DBT longwall equipment and explosive protected diesel plant (SMV, PJB, Jug-A-0)
