About the Role

NPI Water Central operate and maintain a number of Water Treatment plants, Bore fields, Waste Water and Surplus Water (aquifer reinjection) assets across the Pilbara region.

The role will be based at Area C on a family friendly 7/7 fly-in fly-out roster from Perth and you will be working alongside a committed and outcomes focused team that dedicatedly approaches the challenges they face.

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for executing activities which ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of critical water, wastewater and aquifer reinjection infrastructure in accordance with BHP requirements and operating license parameters.

Whilst your commitment to health, safety and the environment will a key focus, you will also be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:

Ensuring our potable water, process water, wastewater and aquifer reinjection systems are operated, maintained and governed to meet Regulatory, Stakeholder and BHP standards and requirements is important to ensure the health of both our employees and the communities in which we operate. Water and wastewater management is also critical to enable sustainable mining operations.

  • Carry out required statutory electrical work in accordance with AS3000, Western Australian Electrical Regulations and BHP requirements.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on water, wastewater and aquifer reinjection infrastructure (instrumentation, control systems, PLC, SCADA, pumps, valves, pipelines, chemical dosing systems, gas chlorination equipment)
  • Assist the Supervisor in identifying and implementing initiatives that commit value to the business.
  • Ensure area tooling and equipment required for water assets works are in working condition according to the manufacturer’s requirements and tested to the site requirements.
  • You will be required to attend to afterhours breakdowns by being part of an on-call roster.
  • Adhere to role required work management requirements including completing assigned work as per the approved schedule, creating detailed notifications for the work required to be completed.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • A current WA 'A' Grade Electrical Licence A current Drivers Licence
  • High attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Enjoyment working within a team environment and also comfortable working independently
  • A forward-thinking mind-set and high focus on attention to detail
  • Previous experience and training with Potable Water Chemicals and Gases would be advantageous
