About the role

This is a permanent full-time opportunity for a suitably experienced Electrical Tradesperson based at the Appin mine.

Key accountabilities –

• Execute work activities according to the daily plan
• Work with physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by the Operation’s standards and operating procedures
• Adhere to defined standard procedures and apply safe work practices
• Assist to develop and enhance work practices and procedures
• Follow defect management processes to ensure equipment is maintained in a safe and fit for purpose state
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and hazards

This role will support our team across the surface and underground across our Appin locations and shifts.

In addition, you will have:

• Electrical Supervisors Certificate or an electrical trade proficiency certificate (trade certificate)
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• First Aid Certificate

Desired skills:

• Experience working at an underground coal operation
• Generic Underground Coal Induction including training in self escape and CABA
• EEHA – Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas
• High Voltage Switching and Confined Space qualifications

Location

This position will be at the Appin mine which is in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
