About the role: We are currently seeking 2 Underground Electricians at our Wambo mine complex.  Our Wambo mine complex is a combined Coal Handling & Preparation Plant, Open-cut and Underground mine located 30 kilometres west of Singleton that produce metallurgical and thermal coal for export markets.

The scope of your role will be to use your electrical trade experience to perform installation, commissionioning, faulrt finding and repair and maintenance on the mine electrical equipment and systems.

You will be working in a team based environment to ensure production targets are met safety and efficiently.  

Duties will include:

  • Demonstrate safe behaviours and practices
  • Contribute to the achievement of production targets, ensuring they are met safely and efficiently
  • Perform planned and breakdown electrical maintenance tasks on all underground equipment
  • Operate equipment as required
  • Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with the site electrical Engineering Control Plan and general standards of good practice
  • Complete necessary documentation, planning sheets and work orders

The lifestyle: This position is offered on a fixed roster of 12 hour shifts, 3 days per week.

About you:

  • Must possess Electrical Trade qualifications and preferably a trade licence
  • EEHA qualification and High Voltage Switching experience
  • 12+ months underground coal experience desirable
  • Genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification
  • An exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic
