Electrical Tradesperson

About the role: We are currently seeking an Underground Electrical Tradesperson for a 6 month fixed term contract at our Metropolitan mine. Our Metropolitan mine is an underground coal mining operation located 30 kilometers north of Wollongong in Helensburgh, NSW producing metallurgical coking coal for export and domestic customers.

You will use your trade experience to perform maintenance activities in a team environment whilst ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently. Your day-to-day duties will include performing planned and breakdown maintenance tasks on all underground equipment, as well as operating equipment when required. As an experienced tradesperson you will ensure all work is performed to trade standards and meets high expectation. You will be able to complete accurate results of each task and complete work planning sheets and work orders.

Duties will include:

• Demonstrate safe behaviours and practices
• Contribute to the achievement of production targets, ensuring they are met safely and efficiently
• Perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks on all underground equipment
• Operate equipment as required
• Ensure all work is performed to trade standards and meets high expectation
• Complete necessary documentation, planning sheets and work orders

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 3 x 12 hour shifts per week roster.

About you:

• Must possess current electrical licence
• Must hold current nationally recognised EEHA qualifications
• 12+ months underground coal experience
• Genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification
• An exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic
