The Opportunity

Reporting to the Superintendent Design Services, the primary purpose of this role is to provide electrical and instrument engineering to support the Project Specialists in delivering the Capital Portfolio for the South32 Worsley Operation.
This involves input to Brownfield multi-discipline modification projects through all project phases from front end engineering design through to commissioning and handover, in line with the Worsley processes, standards and performance targets for HSEC, quality and cost.

This role will be based at our Worsley Refinery, where our employees choose to live in the Bunbury, Collie or other nearby communities which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, this is an opportunity too good to miss.
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in and out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  

Accountabilities


Primary responsibilities are to:

•    Provide engineering designs for Brownfield modifications relating to instrument/electrical equipment in line with South32 Worsley and Australian relevant Standards
•    Liaise with Stakeholders such as engineers (HV, Mechanical, Structural, Process, Process Control), Reliability, Operations, Maintenance, External Contractors and Vendors to deliver successful solutions.
•    Address discipline related project risks via HAZOPs, Risk Assessments and Design Risk assessments
•    Prepare deliverables for project, typically:
        o    scope outlines and scopes of work
        o    detailed engineering calculations to support designs
        o    engineering studies/reports
        o    engineering estimates
        o    technical specifications, datasheets and other documentation for selection and purchase of equipment and materials
        o    commissioning plans
        o    vendor and external engineering quotations
        o    drawing revisions, reviews and approvals
•    Verify external engineers adhere to work standards and plant requirements
•    Provide Installation and Commissioning support, ensuring that the Blueprint information reflects the as-built status of projects
 
About You  


Experience/Technical Skills

2-5 years’ experience in an applicable industry, familiar:
•    Industrial power and control equipment
•    VSDs/motors
•    Motor Control Centres
•    Lighting and power
•    Plant instrumentation and control
 
Competencies:

•    Understanding of industrial control systems and a wide variety of instrumentation in the context of a process plant
•    Appreciation of functional safety
•    Manage equipment commissioning
•    Technical writing
•    Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively to deliver common goals
 
Qualifications
•    Degree in either Electrical / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering
