Macmahon is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our team at Byerwen. This role is critical to maintaining electrical compliance and supporting safe, efficient operations across our electric truck fleet and site infrastructure. You’ll perform rectification work on non-compliant equipment, carry out HV isolations, and assist with servicing activities. The role also involves contributing to safety culture through toolbox talks, pre-starts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About the Role
- Perform rectification tasks on non-compliant electrical equipment to ensure full compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Conduct high-voltage (HV) isolations on electric trucks and provide support during scheduled servicing activities.
- Demonstrate the capability to work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Actively participate in weekly toolbox talks, daily pre-shift briefings, and all scheduled staff and contractual meetings as required.
- Proactively identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety, operational efficiency, and overall productivity.
About You
- Hold a trade qualification as an Electrical Fitter/Mechanic.
- Possess a current Queensland Electrical Licence.
- Maintain up-to-date Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) and CPR certification within the past 12 months.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and ensure compliance with Queensland legislation and statutory obligations, including:
- AS/NZS 3000:2007 – Electrical Installations (Wiring Rules)
- AS/NZS 3012:2010 – Electrical Installations for Construction and Demolition Sites
- AS/NZS 3017:2007 – Electrical Installations Verification Guidelines
