Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster: 14D/14R ex Perth

 

Fortescue are currently looking for an Experienced Electrician to join the Ironbridge West Canning Basin team. Reporting to the Maintenance and Water Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repairs of the dewatering network electrical equipment across the West Canning Basin bore fields and pump station. This equipment includes the diesel generators, MIRI radio telemetry units, flowmeters, variable speed drives and bore pumps. The West Canning basin water network is critical to supply water to the Ironbridge mining operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine electrical servicing, maintenance, and repairs of ABB VSDs, bore pumps, diesel generators, MIRIs, valves, and instrumentation
  • Priorities and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • High Voltage switching operations
  • On-call roster responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade WA electrical license 
  • Current C class WA driving license 
  • HRWL          
  • High Voltage Switching Certification                                                                                                                            
  • Dewatering or OPF experience is essential
  • Current First Aid Certificate 
  • Certificate IV Instrumentation - UEE40411                                                                                
  • Experience in VFD and radio communication                                                                                          
  • Experience in Power Generation and Fault finding                                                                                                 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong, small team environment                                                               
  • Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate strong safety values
