About the Role

We’re currently seeking a safety-conscious Electrician Technician to join our Port Hedland Workshop. Working with a close-knit, proactive workforce that values diversity and innovation, this FIFO role operates on a 4/3 roster from Perth, with the potential to transition to an 8/6 roster in the future.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited too:

  • Execute maintenance activities safely and efficiently in line with weekly schedules, shutdown plans, and standardised work requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas, maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Take ownership of maintenance tasks, prioritising work to minimise breakdowns and disruptions to planned schedules.
  • Report events, hazards, and work requirements accurately and in a timely manner, including participating in field leadership conversations.
  • Support continuous improvement and BHP Operating System initiatives, providing input for engineering or reliability improvements.
  • Follow all 1SAP/Fiori work management processes and complete training as required by the Workshop Supervisor.

About You

  • Qualified Electrician (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician)
  • A grade Electrical License
  • High Risk Worker Licence- Forklift
  • Current Australian C class manual Drivers’ Licence
  • Technical knowledge of PLCs (ABB), VVVFs
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, control and hydraulic systems
  • Strong 1SAP & Fiori knowledge and skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, effective teamwork, and performing under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience using conveyor belt pulling equipment (e.g., belt winders, winches, pinches). (desired)
  • Familiar with Almex vulcanising equipment, including breakdown presses, two‑piece presses, spot presses, and control boxes. (desired)
