This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. BHP’s Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the region. We are currently seeking skilled Electricians (LV, HV or Instrumentation) for various roles and shifts across our Mt Arthur Coal operations at Muswellbrook. Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Supervisor you will use your technical skills and experience to complete planned and breakdown maintenance activities. You will be a focused team player that is able to build effective working relationships across all levels and areas of the operation.
In this role you will:
• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day • Carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to underground equipment, or reticulation networks • Assist in resolution of electrical issues affecting equipment performance and availability • Review and update maintenance schedule plans and equipment history • Provide electrical trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the electrical mine maintenance area, to ensure overall reliability and stability • Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedures • Communicate plant status to appropriate departments • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas

About You
• Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way • Australian recognised Electrical Trade qualification (essential) • New South Wales A-class Electrical Workers license (or ability to obtain) • Experience working in a similar role with exposure to Fixed Plant (preferred) • Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team • Ability to confidently make decisions relating to your work, or escalate if needed • Adaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information • Proficient in the use of 1SAP or similar, preferred but not essential • HV experience (desirable) • Instrumentation experience (desirable) • PLC knowledge (desirable)
