About the Role:
We're seeking a forward-thinking and talented individual to take on the key role of Electronics and Communications Technician, reporting to the Mine Technology Operations Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-performing professional to join a high-performance team supporting Underground Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams.
In this position, you will make an impact by:
- Support daily technology maintenance execution activities across all critical underground equipment and networks.
- Positively influence the technology team culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support teams in resolving priority issues.
- Establish positive working relationships with operations and support functions.
- Assist with training other site personnel as needed.
- Identify and implement initiatives that contribute to potential business value.
- Standardize and simplify production systems, including all critical controls, ensuring zero safety, risk, volume, or cost impacts.
- Ensure disruptions to operations resulting from network and communication system-based activities are minimized or eliminated.
- Resolve any technical queries from teams, projects, and customers.
About You:

You will also ideally possess:
- Certificate III or higher in electrical, electronics, or communications with an interest in communications and mine technology.
- Ability to translate user and business requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure architecture solutions.
- Experience in testing, deploying, and commissioning quality technology infrastructure is highly valued
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
This role is based in the Underground Mine environment on a 7 Day, 7 off, 7 Nights, 7 off roster with flexible options for residential (Roxby Downs), Drive in Drive out (DIDO/BIBO) from South Australia regional areas or Fly In Fly out (FIFO) from Adelaide. You will be supported to learn and grow in your role by collaborating with experts and teams across the business, ensuring a safe and engaging working environment. We also offer relocation opportunities for the right candidate.
