Permit Supervisor

Work Location: Eliwana

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

The Permit Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the isolation team's activities in isolation, tagging and permit requirements for the Eliwana OPF & TLO.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Maintain the Permit to Work system, including procedures, registers, templates, and tooling and facilities required to support safe work.
  • Manage a team of Permit Officers and ensuring the preparation, planning and implementation of all permitting and isolation plans
  • Ensure the team carries out daily inspections of work areas to ensure correct Permits and isolations are in place
  • Undertake audits to ensure permitting and isolations comply with FMG policies and procedures.
  • Leading a team of Permit Officers including the delegation of tasks and responsibilities

Qualification and Experience: 

  • Strong understanding of the Intellipermit System essential
  • Electrical trade qualification (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Permit to Work (PTW) and Isolation Systems in similar mining operations.
  • Extensive experience in safely managing Permit to Work teams in fixed plant operations
  • Significant operational experience and understanding including maintenance prioritization and process control
  • Proven experience working in a mining or other heavy industry environment
