As we work through this transitional period of bringing both organisations safely together, we know that some processes will take longer than others and for now we will be continuing to temporarily recruit roles for our West Musgrave project within the OZ Minerals recruiting platform.

Reporting to the Senior Emergency Services, you will support the Project capability required to deliver the West Musgrave project through the Construction phases in support of the growth strategy. Your primary function is to provide Emergency Response capabilities and contribute to safety initiatives through a team-based approach. 

You will work with a team of professional Emergency Service Officers and Paramedics to provide first response and manage all emergency incidents.

You will play a key role in developing and strengthening a culture based on the How We Work Together (HWWT) principles and the West Musgrave We Care approach. You will also communicate across the whole projects group, with local communities and Traditional Owners, supporting a transparent and proactive engagement strategy.

About You

• Certificate IV Health Care (HLT41120)  • Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue Including Undertake Vertical Rescue (PUASAR032) & Undertake Confined Space Rescue (PUASAR025)  • Workplace Drug and Alcohol testing HLTPAT005  • Valid Manual WA Driver’s License, including a minimum HR-B License to operate site fire appliances.  • Strong emergency services background, with previous emergency response experience covering incidents including HAZMAT, RCR, SAR, Vertical Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Industrial and/or Aviation Firefighting.  • Ability to lead a team in response to all emergencies.  • Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to multi-task, prioritise responsibilities and meet deadlines.  • A team player, supportive of team, peers, and partners.  • Ability to influence and mentor at all levels and develop partnering relationships.  Desirable:  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)  • Operate & maintain a 4WD vehicle (RIIVEH305F)  • Previous experience working in a State or Territory Fire Service, Understanding of AIIMS & safety management systems
