About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join the Olympic Dam Emergency Services, which operate at Olympic Dam’s Processing and Underground Mining operations.

This role will suit an experienced Emergency Service Officer looking to further their knowledge and career. The Olympic Dam Emergency Services is a highly regarded team of professionals that respond to over 1000 calls a year including fire, rescue, HAZMAT and medical emergencies across the surface processing plant and underground mining operations. The Team are well resourced with an impressive fleet of Emergency Vehicles including 3 Ambulances, 3 Fire, 1 HAZMAT and 1 Rescue Appliances.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Responding to all surface/underground fire, rescue, HAZMAT and medical emergencies
  • Maintain operational emergency response equipment and vehicles
  • Participate in training sessions, knowledge sharing and scenario-based exercises for the onsite emergency service volunteers
  • Committing to ongoing personal development to maintain or improve skills and qualifications

About You

You will be committed to making a positive difference in the health and safety of others, enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable undertaking a range of physically demanding activities during your day.

You will have:

  • Cert IV Healthcare (Minimum)
  • Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (or equivalent)
  • C class driver’s license (HR preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proactive drive towards continuous improvement
  • The ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working With Children’s Check

  • AHPRA Registration (Paramedic/RN)
  • Previous experience in a State Emergency Service role
  • Previous experience in Underground Mining Environment
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing Qualification

  • This position is based at Olympic Dam on a 7/7 rotating Day/Night Roster and can be supported as drive-in drive-out (DIDO), Regional South Australia or fly-in fly-out (FIFO) Ex Adelaide OR residential to Roxby Downs.
