What does your daily life look like at Yancoal?

You will provide general employee relations guidance, developing negotiation and bargaining strategies / tactics, assisting with disputes, and reviewing and interpreting industrial instruments. You will be expected to develop and implement ER/IR management plans, initiatives, projects, systems, and policies.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing, developing, and interpreting industrial instruments
  • Develop strategies / tactics and mandates for Enterprise Agreement negotiations which is in line with business goals.
  • Develop group wide strategies for addressing bargaining applications.
  • Act as a coach to site HR in EA negotiations; employee disputes, investigations, and other employee relations issues
  • Develop and implement ER/IR management plans.
  • Determine and manage employee terms and conditions including contracts, clauses, notice periods, restraint periods; ensure our employment contracts, policies and procedures are compliant with the legislative requirements of the jurisdictions we operate in.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory frameworks to ensure Yancoal’ s compliance.
  • Establish constructive relationships with key stakeholders.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

To be successful in the role you will require the following skills:

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications in appropriate field

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Work Act
  • Commercial acumen and leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and communication skills including the ability to write submissions.
  • Hold full Australian valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum 3 years Employee Relations experience
  • Experience dealing with Fair Work
  • Experience in negotiating enterprise agreements.
  • Experience in Award interpretation
  • Experience with workplace investigations
