Energy Modeller
The Energy Modeller will provide integral support to the Energy Operations Team and is responsible for analysing, developing data analytics and reporting to support evidence-based and high-quality information related to energy operations to multiple stakeholders.
Work Location:
Fortescue Centre & Bennett St
Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster:
Monday to Friday, will consider flexible work options
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain systems, processes and data that are integral to the demand and supply model and the dispatch model
- Input into the quarterly supply and demand forecasting process
- Produce dispatch plans for each site
- Analyse current and past performance data
- Engage with multiple stakeholders to provide key critical inputs for decision-making
- Undertake in depth analysis and communicate key insights from the dispatch model to key stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in economic, finance, mathematic or engineering,
- 2+ years experience working in a quantitative analysis and/or energy market analysis role within industry or academia.
- Experience with PLEXOS an advantage
- Strong data management and analysis skills including using data visualisation tools eg Tableau, Power BI
- Demonstrated programming experience in Python.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with high attention to detail
- Strong level of resilience with an ability to manage competing deadline
