This role is a great opportunity for a successful individual to work in dynamic team which is responsible for providing technical assurance and risk advisory function to the Rail Maintenance Division. Reporting to the Specialist Civil Engineer, you will:
- Provide first response maintenance engineering support to ensure high asset availability
- Provide asset assurance including inspections and auditing of civil infrastructure and assets (including, but not limited to, bridges, culverts, cutting, embankments, access roads and formation) to ensure asset state is as per the Code of Practice and Australian Standards.
- Develop scope, quality & timing required (as per the Code of Practice) for rectification works and also ensuring suitable containments are in place until remediation is complete.
- Interface with Engineering and civil execution teams to perform remediation and containment works.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and practices
- Review maintenance process and procedures in order to improve safety and asset performance
- Analyse operating performance of assets and implement improvement projects to eliminate defects
About youTo succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil or structural engineering
- Experience in a rail environment
- Understanding of Railway Track Engineering concepts and principles
- A C Class manual drivers licence

Where you will be working
This unique role is being offered on 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off, (9-day fortnight) roster.
There is an option for this role to be based residentially in Karratha or FIFO from Perth. You will be based at our 7 Mile operation in Dampier (a short drive from Karratha).
We operate 200 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals. The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometres with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.
Our network is the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia, and as we focus on the future, our vision is to become the greatest heavy haul railway in the world.
