About The Role
A newly created opportunity for our underground operations in Narrabri as Decarbonisation Engineer. You will be responsible for GHG emissions mapping including modelling, monitoring, reporting and verification of scope 1 and scope 2 emissions form all operations at the Mine.
What You’ll Do
- Present and recommend potential emission reduction options to the mine’s senior leadership with a view of implementing those potential options onsite
- Develop a practical roadmap for lower emission operations by the identification of alternative technology and process options, mapping them against cost to prioritise benefits
- Project manage the procurement, installation and change management of technical and engineering solutions implemented
- Complete internal and external GHG emissions reporting including reporting on the federal safeguard mechanism
- Liaise with Mine personnel to supply information and technical advice on an as needed basis for any potential group wide GHG reduction programs
- Develop budgets for any projects being managed as required
What You’ll Bring
- A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mining or Mechanical Engineer
- Experience in the underground coal mining industry is preferred
- Solid knowledge of the various state, federal, and mine consent condition requirements with regard to GHG emissions including reporting and minimisation
- Exposure to gas drainage and ventilation management
- Previous experience with engineering design projects
- Be motivated, driven, self-directed and focused
