Engineer - Drill & Blast

The Tropicana Gold Project is a large gold mining operation located 330km north-east of Kalgoorlie, on the edge of Western Australia's Great Victoria Desert. Macmahon commenced work at Tropicana with Anglo Gold Ashanti in 2012 with a life of mine contract. 
We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic Drill and Blast Engineers to join the  team on an 8/6 roster with the option to fly from Perth or Kalgoorlie (super quick travel from Perth: 2 hr flight + 15 mins to office). Responsibilities

• Develop drill and blast designs
• Blast vibration and wall control monitoring compliance
• Report writing, and recommendations for continual improvement
• Assist in implementing new technical solutions into workplace where required
• Improve company systems & procedures where applicable
• A strong focus and commitment to safety
• Liaise with contractors, vendors and other stakeholders on a technical level 
• resent reports, publications and presentations in a professional manner
• Contribute to Mining Engineering and Estimating Community of Best Practice
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Qualifications and attributes

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Mine Planning Software literate with experience preferably in  and 
• Previous exposure to hard rock open pit mining projects highly regarded
• Commitment to raising the profile of Macmahon technical capability, building trust and rapport with our clients
