Engineer - Drill & Blast

The Role

We are looking for two passionate and driven Drill & Blast Engineers to support our Telfer Open Pit Operations with delivery of Drill and Blast functions and design.

Roster: FIFO 8/6, Flying on Fridays

Site: Our Telfer operation in Western Australia’s Great Sandy Desert is a fly-in, fly-out Gold and Copper Operation.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent and collaborating with other Drill and Blast Engineers, your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering Open Pit drill and blast functions for safe and efficient mining operations.
• Completing drill and blast designs, tie-ins, and approvals ahead of schedule.
• Monitoring blasting and operational performance and implementing improvements.
• Supporting mine scheduling and design to ensure safe and cost-effective open-pit production.

About You

To thrive in this role, we are seeking two individuals who value working in an inclusive team environment and be dedicated to making a tangible impact. A solid understanding of open-pit mining operations, quick problem-solving skills, relationship-building, and stakeholder management will be crucial. Other requirements include:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
• Experience in Drill and Blast open-pit mining
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Vulcan
• Experience with Power BI and BlastLogic is a plus
• C Class Manual licence
• Full working rights in Australia
