Engineer - Electrical

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for optimising equipment safety, performance and reliability with a hands on approach, to join our team.
You will be accountable for;
- Leading reliability analysis & improvement initiatives for electrical assets including Winder Hoisting System, Mills, Crushers, Conveyors, Pumps and Power Distribution (33kV-0.415kV)
- Developing and implementing improvements to plant and equipment including engineering and capital project management
- Working with electrical supervisors and technicians to provide technical support for fault finding and repairs
- Identification and management of safety and business risks associated with electrical installations
- Develop and improve maintenance strategies and tactics,
This role is FIFO from Perth and the roster is 8days on /6days off

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognises the importance of work-life balance. About You
To succeed in this role, you will have extensive technical background in typical mine site electrical assets, including HV distribution, HV and LV motors (up to 15MW), transformers, HV/LV switchboards, protection relays and control systems.
Other requirements include:
- Degree qualified Electrical Engineer, eligible for professional Electrical Engineer membership with Engineers Australia.
- A minimum 4-5 year demonstrated experience in the Mining Industry
- Demonstrated Processing Plant and heavy industry hands on experience, working closely with electrical maintenance personnel.
- Sound experience with electrical network modelling software (such as ETAP, DIGSilent).
- A solid working knowledge of AS3000 and AS3008.
Your equipment knowledge is complimented by your strong analytical and data management skills enabling you to analyse data and identify improvement initiatives that support business priorities. You will enjoy thinking outside the box to solve complex problems and have a history of leading change and instigating and managing improvement projects.
