Right now our Mount Isa Copper Operations has a PERMANENT opportunity to join one of the world’s largest Mining Operations and Australia’s deepest. This is a challenging position technically, however with a team of over twenty peers and a strong technical leadership team you will be well supported and developed.  Apply what you know to engage with a number of stakeholders throughout the business to achieve various targets and support the Mine Standard. 

As Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Interpretation of mine monitoring systems; e.g. Seismic monitoring.
  • Underground inspection and Geotechnical mapping.
  • Design and reconciliation of large stoping excavations.
  • QAQC on installed ground support
  • Monitoring of excavations through damage mapping
  • Design and reconciliation of vertical and horizontal mine development.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • experience working in underground hard rock mining (minimum 2 years)
  • experience with numerical modelling software packages (ideally Map3D);
  • Experience with Mine design software (Ideally Deswik Suite);
  • excellent communication and report writing skills;
  • ability to work in a fast paced environment;
  • Bachelor of Geotechnical Engineering or similar relevant tertiary qualification
  • Australian Manual Drivers' Licence
