We are looking for an Engineer Maintenance to join our fixed plant maintenance team at Cape Lambert B. In this dynamic role in an operational environment at the ports, you will assist the maintenance, operations and belts teams with breakdown support; defect elimination; investigations; and improvement projects related to fixed plant.
Reporting to the Senior Engineer CLB, you will:
- Provide technical support to the fixed plant maintenance and operations teams
- Be responsible for asset fault diagnosis and recovery planning for major breakdowns
- Conduct failure investigations for asset failures and develop actions to address the root cause
- Be actively involved in the site defect elimination process to improve reliability and safety
- Be the project leader for equipment technical modifications and improvement initiatives
- Communicate asset health, performance and availability metrics through regular meetings
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve plant reliability and reduce maintenance costs
- Actively drive a robust safety culture and processes through a strong in the field presence
- Liaise with numerous stakeholders across a variety of maintenance teams
- Provide engineering assistance for the provisioning of new equipment and components
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering (or other relevant discipline)
- A current "C Class" WA driver’s license
- The desire to be working in a dynamic position at the ports
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance or reliability engineering role in the mining industry
- Familiarity with equipment failure investigation techniques (5 Whys, RCA)
- A strong focus towards safety and safe work practices
- The ability to progress multiple projects simultaneously
- The knowledge of the SAP system in a maintenance environment
- An ability to convert technical knowledge into practical instruction
- Strong interpersonal skills, including good oral and written skills
Where you will be working
Cape Lambert
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
