We are looking for a Fixed Plant Maintenance Engineer to join our Yandi Maintenance team. This role is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make significant contributions to the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of critical assets to meet production requirements. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, and working in a collaborative, exciting environment within the Asset Management team you will provide technical support to site through the following;
- Provide technical support and solutions to fixed plant maintenance and operations teams via fault finding, repair and shutdown support
- Review inspection reports, perform fitness for service assessments, recommend/ develop repair work specifications and recommend maintenance strategies.
- Facilitate Defect Elimination Process and investigations into failures
- Develop and implement DE improvements to plant and equipment including engineering and capital project management.
- Actively support safety improvement initiatives and demonstrate safety leadership across site
- Document and generate reports and drawings for equipment upgrades and changes
- Provide engineering assistance for the procurement of new equipment / components
- Manage change management processes relating to maintenance activities
- Support for the conception, development and execution of improvement projects
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in mechanical or maintenance, with solid background in mining or processing industries
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Effective interpersonal / networking skills to work collaboratively in a small team, champion change and instigate and manage improvement projects
- Experience in bulk handling equipment including crushing, screening, belt conveyor, stackers, reclaimers.
- Experience with Defect Elimination processes and Root Cause Analysis methodology
- Demonstrated track record of delivering performance improvements and positive change.
- Familiarity with WA Mines Reg, Australian and international engineering standards.
- SAP experience and advanced Microsoft Office skills
- C class manual driver’s licence

This position is based at our Yandi Operations, working on a FIFO 8/6 roster.
Located 95km north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As one of Australia's largest-producing iron ore mines; operating a fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, it generates more than 55 million tonnes of Hammersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines each year.
