The Opportunity
An opportunity exists to join our Materials Team as a Mechanical Reliability Engineer. Working in a cross-functional team, the role will contribute to the safe & reliable operation of our Bauxite Handling system, including a 51km overland conveying system, stacking system & reclaim systems.
Location
Worsley Refinery, employees typically choose to live in Bunbury, Collie, or nearby communities, which offer a desirable country lifestyle. As there is no accommodation on site, employees will need to commute daily, ideally living within an hour's drive of Collie.
Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities are to:
- Monitor reliability performance of Raw Materials fixed plant equipment
- Undertake projects to improve safety and reliability of fixed plant equipment
- Provide day-to-day technical support to maintenance and operations
- Build and develop equipment maintenance strategies for all equipment within the operational area of responsibility. This includes ensuring adequate information is captured in the task list and associated work instructions to perform the intended tasks to the required standard safely.
- Support in the development of maintenance budget based on the preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in SAP.
- Perform equipment strategy reviews and failure analysis to ensure that all task lists, and work instructions remain accurate and relevant. Update task lists/work instructions and all relevant master data in SAP.
- Review / approve SAP Master Data change requests in line with maintenance strategies and content quality requirements.
- Encourage, mentor and coach peers and colleagues across operational areas to follow the SAP process by promoting operating discipline.
- Assess and action condition-based information for critical equipment.
To be considered for these opportunities, you will have:
- Undergraduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance reliability preferably in materials handling
- Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in Maintenance
Technical / Specialised skills:
- Ability to apply specific problem-solving skills as required by the Operation
- Has suitable Technical Expertise and knowledge of the Operations to inform on decision-making, take responsibility for planning, designing and implementing technology solutions that meet the needs of projects or operational areas.

- Detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining operational equipment and limited knowledge of other functions
