ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position, DIDO to our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.  

This role is a Permanent 9-day fortnight working arrangement – Worsley Alumina DIDO based at the Worsley Refinery near Collie.  As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring long-term safe and reliable performance of the Mechanical Infrastructure within the Raw Materials area. The role will be primarily focussed on long-term reliability.


Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:  
•    Work in a cross-functional team to provide safe and reliable performance of Mechanical Infrastructure. 

•    Provide support to front line Maintenance and Operations teams.
•    Develop Asset Management Plans for critical assets.
•    Build and develop equipment maintenance strategies for all equipment within the operational area of responsibility. This includes ensuring adequate information is captured in the task list and associated work instructions to perform the intended tasks to the required standard safely. 

•    Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements and create Safety Critical Equipment master data in SAP. Develop and deploy maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment. Ensure adherence to these statutory plans in SAP.
•    Lead and promote discipline in engineering work, verify quality of completed tasks and enhance technical knowledge of team members and other Engineering employees in regard to the mechanical discipline.

ABOUT YOU


You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

•    Visible field safety leadership and an ability to drive safety and performance excellence

•    Knowledge of Mechanical Systems in a mining fixed plant context
•    Knowledge of mechanical engineering methodologies, tools and software’s.
•    Knowledge and experience implementing Management of Engineering Change.
•    Significant experience in delivering complete life cycle of design works within a brownfield environment within the resources or other heavy industry
•    Sound understanding and proven experience in developing and managing engineering budgets and schedule.

Qualifications for this position are:  

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering to a standard recognised by Engineers Australia.
