About the Role

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, as a Medium Term Planning Engineer you will be accountable for coordinating the planning activities in the medium term horizon, providing engineering support and continuously improving the mining plan.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

  • Actively manage the preparation of the 12 Months Forecast with consideration given to risk (safety, business, operational) and following the Mid-term Strategy
  • Ensure production Monthly plan is met through effective planning, scheduling and coordination of activities relating to the mining fleets
  • Liaise with site technical services managers, superintendents and engineers in the Mid-Term plan well before plans are due to complete quality plans on time
  • Supervise and provide mentoring to mining engineers, ensuring their outputs adhere to business goals

What You'll Bring

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience;

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar
  • 5 years’ experience in open cut coal mine engineering
  • Multi-seam coal open cut experience (Desirable)
  • Experience using mine planning & scheduling software (Vulcan, Gantt Scheduler, Spry)
  • Excellent communication and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
