About the Role

The successful candidate will you be an integral member of a diverse, dynamic and results driven team. The team manages surface material movements to feed the mills and operates a plant to produce cemented aggregate fill (CAF), a large limestone quarry that supplies the aggregate for the CAF plant and Surface drilling operations to support CAF placement. This role allows you to engage with a range of operational and technical stakeholders to provide specialist analysis and advice and manage your own portfolio of initiatives and projects to drive business decision making and continuous improvement.  Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 5:2 4:3 roster, with residential or FIFO options available. Alternative rosters are available for the right candidate.  In this role you will:

  • Prepare inputs (3MRP, 5YP) to form the production plan and budget;
  • Analyse and determine equipment capability assumptions;
  • Identify functional capability gaps and recommend improvement opportunities to department leadership;
  • Compile reports & provide expertise to other teams in analysis of production performance indicators and metrics;
  • Compile and maintain the portfolio of improvement initiatives and loading capital requests in Planview;
  • Liaise with operations and contract partners team to ensure that new ideas are developed and practically implemented, and build cross-team relationships;
  • Provide feedback to the Planning function to improve future execution plans, designs, schedules and forecasts;
  • Engage with relevant teams such as GT&S, MOPS, and Fixed Plant etc for small projects or modifications needed to plant and equipment.

About You

  • You will possess Tertiary Qualification in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Business Improvement or other mining related technical field
  • Have previous production budget experience
  • Experience open pit mining or quarry operations will be an added advantage
  • A willingness to lead and implement change
  • Motivation to find optimal working methods and strive for continuous improvement
