Engineer - Mining

Macmahon has an exciting opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join our team at Warrawoona Gold Mine. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the role's primary focus is to provide to provide open cut mining engineering support to the Senior Engineers, Project Manager and wider mining team.

The Warrawoona Gold Project is located in the East Pilbara Goldfields of Western Australia. Macmahon was awarded a contract to develop a new open-cut mine for Calidus Resources, with the scope of works expected to include all open cut mining activities until December 2026.

The role:

• All aspects of open pit engineering support including: mine planning, design, scheduling, drill & blast support and equipment selection
• Define and monitor progress of daily and weekly operating plans
• Generate operating mine and infrastructure designs as required
• Provide, information, data and plans in a clear and concise manner to permit successful daily operation of a mine
• Develop, contribute and initiate Continuous Improvements to the management and operation of the site
• Assist site personnel with management of as required

About you: 

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Tertiary degree - Mining Engineer or equivalent
• Demonstrated understanding of drill and blast designs and techniques
• Short to medium term planning skills
• Ability to understand and create maps/plans
• Familiarity with current mine planning software
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to Macmahon safety culture and values; and
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
